3rd Generation Owner
Ray
Ray has a passion for customer service. He is a New Jersey Licensed Hearing Aid Dispenser and the main hearing care provider for the practice. He is also a New Jersey Licensed Optician and an adjunct professor teaching optics at Camden County College. Ray and his wife Amanda homeschool their three kids and love spending time at the beach. He enjoys walking his Great Dane, playing competitive pickleball, and he is a German car enthusiast.
2nd Generation Owners
Fred & Sue
Fred and his wife Sue met working together at Meserall Vision and Hearing. He then took the reins from his father Frederick in the 1980s. He is a well seasoned New Jersey Licensed Optician and Hearing Aid Dispenser. He enjoys using his sense of design and style to curate our award winning eyewear collection. He loves spending time with family and enjoying the sand and ocean in Beach Haven, NJ. He is also an avid pickleball player.
Optical Manager
Brooke
Brooke has been styling high-end eyewear since the age of 16! As a teenager, her first job was selling luxury sunglasses in LBI, NJ. She is a New Jersey Licensed Optician and is also an adjunct professor at Camden County College teaching in the Ophthalmic Science Department. When not in the classroom or office, she enjoys spending time with her husband, super cute son, and her Velcro Vizsla named Buck. She played college volleyball and loves pickleball.

Chris
Chris has been with the practice for over 35 years. He is also a well seasoned New Jersey Licensed Optician and Hearing aid Dispenser. With his bare hands, he is preserving the art and craft of making eyeglasses and fully manages our finishing lab. Chris enjoys helping with his grandchildren, and spending time with his family & Labrador down the shore in Ocean City, NJ. He is the only one that does not play pickleball.
Our Story
Our story spans three generations over 85 years, and yet, we are young. We are still excited every day by the opportunity to make you the best pair of glasses you’ve ever had. No company drifts into excellence. It takes hard work and dedication to purpose. We were founded by a trailblazer in 1947 and we continue to pursue the most innovative ways to bring you the best quality products with the highest level of service.
At the core, we are a family business. Our founder, Frederick G. Meserall was part of the first ever U.S. Army optical unit in World War II, served as president of the Guild Opticians of N.J, was appointed to the State Board of Opticians by the governor of N.J, and was instrumental, along with his wife Betty, in starting the first college program for opticians in New Jersey.
Frederick’s son, also Fred, along with his wife Susan have been our second generation leaders for over 40 years. They’ve built on the foundation positioned by our founder, his father, and grown the business, literally doubling the size of the practice, introducing digital lens cutting, honing the mission of making our customers the best pair of glasses they’ve ever had, and curating a frame collection from the finest manufacturers around the world. Under their leadership, the business was awarded the Best of South Jersey distinction fifteen times, and was featured in the leading national industry magazine as one of the “Best of the Best” in the country.
Ray, our third generation, quickly made his mark in optical school by graduating top in his class and being invited back as an adjunct professor in the program that had been started by our founder many decades ago. Along with teaching next generation optical students at the college level, he brings innovation and energy while leading our practice into the future.
Chris, our lab manager, has been crafting fine eyewear for over 35 years in our practice. Nothing leaves our shop or passes our rigid inspection without his stamp of approval.
Family is our focus. We are a family business, run by a family, interested in making all of our customers feel like family. We are proud to know our customers by name and to serve them faithfully over years and decades.
